Green

I have a serious case of the Monday Greens today, not the blues, as I share with you some of my favourite green illustrations that I’ve been collecting over the past few weeks on Pinterest.

There is a beautiful eclectic mix of illustrative styles here, and as a collective I think they all sit well and compliment one another. The light green hues used in these illustrations are very delicate and offer a sense of serene for this Monday morning, in light of a busy week ahead.

1. La Librairie de la Pomme Verte by Vincent Mahe  2. Girl by Dung Ho  3. Budgie by Dimdi  4. Sink Dipping Illustrator Unknown  5. Wall & Deco by Alessandro Gottardo  6. & 7. Synchro Swim Patten by Simone Massoni  8. Dove by Rob Hodgson  9. Just Swim by Monica Ramos

I urge you to check out further works from these talented illustrators, there are some wonderfull illustrations on offer that will surely raise a smile today.

Feeling Cheeky

I just love this very cheeky monkey illustration by Raquel Schemer. It certainly made me smile. I not only like their expressions, but I like the colours used too. So simple, but effective.

Happy weekend x

Pantone Colour of the Year 2016

Posted On: Monday, January 11, 2016

Just before Christmas Pantone released their Colour of the Year for 2016. As we all waited with anticipation to see what colour was going to be chosen, no one knew what Pantone were about to do…

They didn’t release just one colour for 2016, but for the first time in their history they released two colours; Rose Quartz; a soft, ethereal blush pink and Serenity; a delicate, smooth blue hue. But hold on, there’s more… it’s the blending of these to shades where we really get to see Pantone’s Colour of the Year for 2016.

Pantone Colours of the Year 2016

This fusion represents more than just colour, it represents the cultural changes that are happening in the World right now, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. In their announcement Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s Executive Director explains:

“As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security.Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”

These colours also represent the gender blur that certain parts of the world and also modern cultures are experiencing within fashion and social movements. More and more people are worrying less about being judged or typecast within a certain “group”. Our eyes are open wider and our hearts are even more accepting than ever before and this is what the 2016’s colour of the year truly means.

Take a Chance

Happy New Year everyone! 2016 is going to be the year where I take a chance and make things happen, you never know where it will lead. I’m even introducing a hashtag for the year; #takeachance

Even though I didn’t achieve all my goals I set out for 2015, my blog still grew and went from strength to strength. This year I’m going to push it even harder. Watch this space.

#takeachance
