This lovely, colourful illustration by Eric Comstock has just brightened up my Friday, it has a great 1950s feel to it, don’t you agree?

For the Love of Stripes

Posted On: Wednesday, May 27, 2015

I’m a girl that loves stripes, black and white stripes in particular, I love them so much I’m even wearing my favourite stripy jumper whilst writing this post. I like to call it a healthy obsession and I’m here to share it proudly with you all! I can’t even remember where this stripy love began, I think it’s gradually grown over the years and now it’s here to stay. When I’m out shopping I’m always drawn to black and white striped products, whether it’s homeware, clothes or shoes and here’s a few I need to add to my collection…

1. 1959 Art Print from Francesca Iannaccone  2. Isola Strip Round Frame from Paperchase  3. Cotton Cushion Cover from H&M  4. Stripes Graffiti Spray Wallpaper from Paperboy Wallpaper  5. Watercolour Strip iPhone Case from Apple-cart  6. Black and White Stripes Stationery Card from Gathered Nest Designs

Bank Holiday Picks

BankHol-Fun

I’m enjoying another bank holiday today so I thought I’d take a little break from blogging, but not to disappoint my regular followers I still wanted to post something, so I decided to share a few pictures I’ve found recently on Pinterest that I love. As usual they’re all random and the only things that ties them all together are the colours. Very pretty pinks and pale blues.

Icecream-Girl-2

Happy Friday folks! I had to share this photo with you today, as soon as I found it I knew I wanted to blog about it on my next Fun Friday post. It makes me chuckle but also stare in amazement at how the ice cream cone is balanced between the table and her nose! Probably some camera trickery going on here but who cares, it makes me smile!

Drawings by David Shrigley

Earlier last month I posted about my visit to Sketch and the wonderful drawings by David Shrigley that adorned their walls. His work left such an impression on me that I needed to find out (and see) more. David is a British visual artist and his work is quirky, humorous, dry, bizarre and just plain brilliant, with my favourite being his drawings. Here are a few of my favourites…

David’s drawings are true and honest, but also not to be taken too seriously (in the nicest sense). They are there to make you smile and for you to ponder over which is your favourite, only to change your mind over and over again. I like to see these drawings as a little ray of light when life gets too serious.

Well I said last month that Spring had arrived but I think I underestimated it! April was beautiful and warm, which meant those flowers that were blooming in March were even more spectacular in April. There were pretty cherry blossom trees, which snowed delicate pink petals at the slightest of breezes and fields full of dazzling rape seed blooms contrasting against bright blue skies. Oh I did manage to capture some great signs and architecture in between…
